Add-on Package Description
EdgeOne add-on packages are categorized into security acceleration traffic packages, security acceleration request packages, value-added service VAU packages, and MPS duration packages. These can be used to offset excess usage beyond the plan quota. Compared to pay-as-you-go postpaid billing, EdgeOne add-on packages offer more cost-effective unit pricing. You may select suitable add-on packages based on your actual business consumption.
Note:
2. Add-on packages are only applicable for usage deduction generated by prepaid Personal/Basic/Standard Edition plans. For Enterprise Edition, the applicable rules vary based on the selected billing mode:
2.1 If the prepaid monthly subscription billing mode is adopted, add-on packages can be used for deduction.
2.2 If the postpaid monthly billing mode is adopted, add-on packages are not supported for deduction.
3. Security acceleration traffic packages are only applicable for deducting L7 (application layer) traffic, and are not applicable for deducting L4 (transport layer) traffic, DDoS Protection service traffic. 4. Security acceleration request packages are only applicable for deducting HTTP/HTTPS request counts, and are not applicable for deducting Smart Acceleration request counts, QUIC request counts, or other request consumption. 5. Value-added service VAU packages are only applicable for deducting usage-based value-added service usage unit fees (postpaid), and are applicable for deducting consumption generated by Smart Acceleration, QUIC requests, and BOT requests. They are not applicable for deducting the quota for custom rule precise matching policies, rate limiting rule quotas, site quantity quotas, or layer-4 acceleration instance counts. 6. MPS duration packages are used to offset Media Instant Processing duration fees (postpaid), and are applicable for deducting processing duration usage generated by Media Instant Processing, including instant transcoding, audio transcoding, and transmuxing. 7. EdgeOne usage deduction priority is: plan quota usage > add-on package usage > add-on packages with nearer expiration dates > smaller-spec add-on packages > postpaid.

Security acceleration traffic packages are used to deduct L7 (application layer) traffic generated by EdgeOne. The traffic package is region-agnostic, and consumption ratios vary across regions: |
Chinese mainland CN | North America NA | Europe EU | Asia-Pacific Zone 1 AP1 | Asia-Pacific Zone 2 AP2 | Asia-Pacific Zone 3 AP3 | Middle East ME | Africa AA | South America SA |
1 GB | 1.71 GB | 1.71 GB | 2.49 GB | 2.68 GB | 2.78 GB | 2.91 GB | 2.91 GB | 2.91 GB |
Note:
The division of billing regions is based on the region where the EdgeOne node that serves the user client is actually located. The mapping relationship between billing regions and countries can be found in Billing Regions. Example Note:
Security acceleration request package deduction example
Assume that the user purchased a 50 GB security acceleration Traffic Package at 2023-07-09 00:00:00, at which point the security acceleration traffic within the plan has been exhausted.
From 2023-07-09 00:05:00 to 00:10:00, 10 GB of traffic was generated in the North America region, and the remaining usage of the security acceleration Traffic Package is 20 GB - 10 * 1.71 GB = 2.9 GB;
From 2023-07-09 00:10:00 to 00:15:00, 1 GB of traffic was generated in the Europe region and Asia-Pacific 1 region respectively. According to the deduction rules, 1.71 GB and 2.49 GB should be deducted for the Europe and Asia-Pacific 1 regions respectively, requiring a total deduction of 4.2 GB. However, the remaining usage of the security acceleration Traffic Package is only 2.9 GB. At this point, the remaining usage of the security acceleration Traffic Package will be allocated proportionally based on the deduction ratio:
The Europe region deducts 2.9 * 1.71 / (1.71 + 2.49) = 1.18 GB from the remaining security acceleration Traffic Package usage. The out-of-plan excess traffic generated in the Europe region is (1.71 - 1.18) / 1.71 = 0.31 GB;
The Asia-Pacific 1 region deducts 2.9 * 2.49 / (1.71 + 2.49) = 1.72 GB from the remaining security acceleration Traffic Package usage. The out-of-plan excess traffic generated in the Asia-Pacific 1 region is (2.49 - 1.72) / 2.49 = 0.31 GB.

Example of security acceleration request package deduction
Assume that you purchased a 10 million times security acceleration Request Package at 2023-07-09 00:00:00, at which point the security acceleration requests within the plan have been exhausted.
From 2023-07-09 00:00:00 to 00:05:00, 5 million requests were generated in the Chinese mainland region. The remaining usage of the SCsecurity accelerationDN Request Package is 10 million times minus 5 million times = 5 million times;
From 2023-07-09 00:05:00 to 00:10:00, 3 million requests were generated in the North America region. The remaining usage of the security acceleration Request Package is 5 million times minus 3 million times = 2 million times;
From 2023-07-09 00:10:00 to 00:15:00, 3 million requests were generated in the Europe region and 2 million requests in the Asia-Pacific 1 region. According to the deduction rules, a total of 5 million times need to be deducted, but the remaining usage of the security acceleration Request Package is only 2 million times. At this point, the remaining usage of the security acceleration Request Package is allocated according to the deduction ratio:
The Europe region deducts 200 * 300 / (300 + 200) = 1.2 million times from the remaining security acceleration Request Package usage. The out-of-plan excess requests generated in the Europe region amount to 3 million - 1.2 million = 1.8 million times;
The Asia-Pacific 1 region deducts 200 * 200 / (300 + 200) = 0.8 million times from the remaining security acceleration Request Package usage. The out-of-plan excess requests generated in the Asia-Pacific 1 region amount to 2 million - 0.8 million = 1.2 million times.
Value-added service VAU packages
The Value-added Service VAU Package is used to deduct EdgeOne-generated value-added service usage unit fees (postpaid). The VAU Package does not distinguish between countries or regions, and deductions are applied at a 1:1 ratio across different regions. Value-added Service VAU Package Price
The list price for a single purchase of Value-added Service VAU Packages is as follows:
|
12 months | 500 units | $ 7.15 | $ 4.845 |

| 5000 units | $ 71.50 | $ 43.35 |
| 20,000 units | $ 286.00 | $ 171.60 |
| 50,000 units | $ 715.00 | $ 388.45 |
| 250,000 units | $ 3575.00 | $ 1,787.50 |
| 500,000 units | $ 7150.00 | $ 3,400.00 |
| 5,000,000 units | $ 71500.00 | $ 24,285.35 |
Value-added service VAU package deduction example
Assume that you purchased a Value-added Service VAU Package of 2500 units at 2023-07-09 00:00:00.
From 2023-07-09 00:00:00 to 00:05:00, 20 million QUIC requests were generated in the Chinese mainland region. According to the settlement rules of Value-added Service Usage Unit Fee (postpaid), per 1 million requests are converted to 100 units, thus the consumption is 2000 units. The remaining usage of the Value-added Service VAU Package is 2500 units - 2000 units = 500 units; From 2023-07-09 00:05:00 to 00:10:00, 3 million intelligent acceleration requests were generated in the North America region. According to the settlement rules of Value-added Service Usage Unit Fee (postpaid), per 1 million requests are converted to 100 units, thus the consumption is 300 units. The remaining usage of the Value-added Service VAU Package is 500 units - 300 units = 200 units; From 2023-07-09 00:10:00 to 00:15:00, 3 million Bot requests and 2 million intelligent acceleration requests were generated in the Europe region and Asia-Pacific 1 region respectively. According to the settlement rules of Value-added Service Usage Unit Fee (postpaid), the consumption was 300 units and 200 units respectively. However, the remaining usage of the Value-added Service VAU Package was only 200 units. At this point, the remaining usage of the Value-added Service VAU Package is allocated based on the deduction ratio: For the Europe region, the deducted remaining usage of the Value-added Service VAU Package was 200 * 300 / (300 + 200) = 120 units; the excess Value-added Service usage units generated were 300 - 120 = 180 units;
For the Asia-Pacific 1 region, the deducted remaining usage of the Value-added Service VAU Package was 200 * 200 / (300 + 200) = 80 units; the excess Value-added Service usage units generated were 200 - 80 = 120 units.
MPS Duration Package
MPS Duration Package is used to offset the media instant processing duration fees (postpaid) generated by EdgeOne. The MPS Duration Package is deducted at different ratios based on transcoding types: Assume that the actual transcoding duration for each transcoding type is 1 minute. Different transcoding types will be deducted according to the following ratios respectively:
|
H.264 | SD (short side ≤ 480 px) | 1 : 1 | 1 minute |
H.264 | HD (short side ≤ 720 px) | 1 : 2 | 2 minutes |
H.264 | FHD (short side ≤ 1080 px) | 1 : 3.8 | 3.8 minutes |
H.264 | 2K (short side ≤ 1440 px) | 1 : 8.5 | 8.5 minutes |
H.265 | SD (short side ≤ 480 px) | 1 : 5 | 5 minutes. |
H.265 | HD (short side ≤ 720 px) | 1 : 9.5 | 9.5 minutes |
H.265 | FHD (short side ≤ 1080 px) | 1 : 19 | 19 minutes |
H.265 | 2K (short side ≤ 1440 px) | 1 : 40 | 40 minutes |
audio transcoding | - | 1 : 0.3 | 0.3 minutes |
Remux | - | 1 : 0.45 | 0.45 minutes |
Standard encryption | - | 1:0.5 | 0.5 minutes |
Example Note:
MPS duration package redemption example
Assume that the user purchased an MPS time package of 900 minutes at 2024-12-11 00:00:00.
From 2024-12-11 00:00:00 to 00:05:00, Full HD FHD video generated 100 minutes of transcoding, and the remaining usage of the MPS time package is 900 - 100 * 3.8 minutes = 520 minutes;
From 2024-12-11 00:05:00 to 00:10:00, Standard Definition SD video generated 100 minutes of transcoding, and the remaining usage of the MPS time package is 520 - 100 * 1 minutes = 420 minutes;
From 2024-12-11 00:10:00 to 00:15:00, Standard Definition SD video transcoding generated 100 minutes, and High Definition HD video transcoding generated 200 minutes. According to the deduction rules, Standard Definition SD and High Definition HD videos should be deducted 100 minutes and 400 minutes respectively, totaling 500 minutes to be deducted. However, the remaining usage of the MPS time package is only 420 minutes. At this point, the remaining usage of the MPS time package is allocated according to the deduction ratio:
Standard Definition SD video deducts 420 * 100 / (100 + 400) = 84 minutes from the remaining MPS time package, resulting in an excess usage of 100 - 84 = 16 minutes for Standard Definition SD video;
High Definition HD video deducts 420 * 400 / (100 + 400) = 336 minutes from the remaining MPS time package, resulting in an excess usage of 400 - 336 = 64 minutes for High Definition HD video;
MPS Duration Package Pricing
The list price for a single purchase of MPS time packages is as follows:

| 600000 minutes | $ 1,800.00 | $ 1,124.00 |
| 3000000 minutes | $ 9,000.00 | $ 4,312.00 |
Add-on Package Deduction Instructions
Upgrade Time
Deduction effective time: The EdgeOne add-on package takes effect at the time of purchase snapped to the nearest 5-minute interval backward, and the expiration time is the effective time plus the validity period of the add-on package. Can only deduct usage generated after the add-on package takes effect.
Example of add-on package effective time
Assume that during 2023-07-09 13:05:00 - 13:10:00, you generated 10 GB of traffic consumption, and during 2023-07-09 13:10:00 - 13:15:00, you generated 20 GB of traffic consumption. If you purchased a 100 GB security acceleration Traffic Package with a validity period of 12 months at 2023-07-09 13:13:07, then the effective time of this security acceleration Traffic Package is: 2023-07-09 13:10:00, the expiration time is 2024-07-09 13:09:59, and the deductible usage is the 20 GB generated during the 13:10:00 - 13:15:00 period.
Deduction order
Deduction scope: The purchased add-on package can deduct the usage generated from using the EdgeOne service for all sites under all Personal, Basic, and Standard plans in the current account.
1. Billed usage will be deducted from the quota usage within the plan package first. Add-on package usage will only be deducted after the plan quota usage is exhausted.
2. EdgeOne usage deduction sequence is: plan quota usage > add-on package usage > add-on packages with nearer expiration dates > smaller-spec add-on packages > postpaid.
3. Add-on packages are deducted in order from the nearest to the farthest expiration date. When expiration dates are the same, deduction proceeds from the smallest to the largest specification size. When both expiration date and specification are identical, no further distinction is made.
Add-on Package Deduction Order Example
Assume you currently have 3 security acceleration traffic packages:
A: Specification is 1 TB, effective time is 2023-07-08 00:00:00, expiration time is 2024-07-07 23:59:59;
B: Specification is 50 GB, effective time is 2023-07-08 00:00:00, expiration time is 2024-07-07 23:59:59;
C: Specification is 100 GB, effective time is 2023-07-06 00:00:00, expiration time is 2024-07-05 23:59:59.
The deduction priority order of the three traffic packages is: C > B > A.
