To use the Standard protection level of Anti-DDoS, you only need cloud resources with public network access. No additional Anti-DDoS subscription is required. For more information, see Infrastructure-layer Anti-DDoS (Standard Protection).
To use the Advanced protection level or Ultimate protection level of DDoS Defender, you must purchase the corresponding package to obtain authorization. This document provides detailed instructions on how to purchase the package. First, refer to DDoS Defender Billing Overview to determine the package you need and understand the associated costs, and then follow this document to complete the purchase.
2. Select the plan edition, protection capacity add-on, and subscription duration based on your actual business needs.

Select the following add-on packs based on your business protection scope (multiple selections allowed):
Mainland China Protection Capacity Add-on: applies to EO domains and L4 proxy instances in Chinese mainland area or global area, and Anti-DDoS EIPs within the Chinese mainland, extending protection capacity for the Chinese mainland area to Tbps level.
Global (Excluding Mainland China) Protection Capacity Add-on: applies to Anti-DDoS EIPs and EO BGP Transit CIDRs in global area (excluding the Chinese mainland), providing them with L3/4 DDoS traffic mitigation capabilities.
Cross-regional Protection Capacity Add-on: applies to EO domains and L4 proxy instances in global area (excluding the Chinese mainland), extending cross-region protection capacity to Tbps level for routes with Chinese mainland network optimization (global acceleration) enabled. Before enabling, you must complete the Chinese mainland network optimization (global acceleration) configuration. For details, see Cross-MLC-Border Acceleration.
Additional protected resource count (optional)
Purchase additional protected resource quotas based on actual business needs. Excess usage will automatically incur postpaid charges.
Additional clean traffic (optional)
Purchase additional clean traffic quota based on actual business needs. Excess usage will automatically incur postpaid charges.
Subscription duration (required)
Subscription periods from 1 month to 2 years are supported, with packages purchased on a monthly basis. You can also select "Auto-renew monthly upon expiration when the account balance is sufficient" based on actual needs.
4. Verify the selected information, choose whether to use a voucher, click Confirm Purchase, and complete the payment process.
5. After the subscription is completed, go to the purchase page again to view the DDoS Defender information that the currently logged-in Tencent Cloud root account has subscribed to.
