After September 10, 2026, historical editions of Anti-DDoS Pro or Anti-DDoS Advanced will no longer support self-service plan upgrades through the console. If you are an existing Anti-DDoS Pro or Anti-DDoS Advanced customer and need to upgrade a historical subscription edition, submit a ticket to obtain support. After you purchase a DDoS Defender plan, you can upgrade or downgrade it to change the plan version within the remaining validity period to a new specification. This document describes the steps and precautions for changing a plan.
Rules for Upgrade and Downgrade (Configuration Adjustment)
Currently supported scenarios and corresponding limitations:
Upgrading from the Essential Plan to the Premium Plan: no limitations.
Downgrading from the Premium Plan to the Essential Plan: you must have used ≤ 2 mitigation sessions in the current month.
Adding any protection-capacity add-on: no restrictions.
Canceling a protection-capacity add-on: no protection instances with the Ultimate Protection level can exist under the current Tencent Cloud root account in the corresponding region.
Add extra clean-traffic quota or protected-resource quota: no restrictions.
After the plan change is successful, the effective time and expiration time of the plan remain the same as before the change. For example, if you purchased a multi-month plan before the change, the plan within the remaining validity period will be changed together.
For monthly plans with auto-renewal enabled, after the plan change is successful, the plan will be automatically renewed based on the new plan version upon expiration.
Configuration Adjustment Billing Guide
Upgrade fee = Incomplete cycle upgrade fee for the currently effective plan + complete cycle upgrade fee for the purchased but not activated plan
Incomplete cycle upgrade fee = (Upgraded plan monthly price - Original plan monthly price) × (Remaining days of the current cycle / Total days of the month)
Remaining days of the current cycle = Expiration date of the current plan cycle - date of the plan change
Complete cycle upgrade fee = (Upgraded plan monthly price - Original plan monthly price) × Number of complete cycles
Note:
When a downgrade is performed, the price difference for the remaining validity period will be refunded to your Tencent Cloud account balance based on the proportion of remaining days.
Guide to Upgrade and Downgrade (Configuration Adjustment)
For example, if your current plan is the Essential Plan and you need to upgrade to the Premium Plan, follow these steps:
2. On the Overview page, locate the DDoS protection service subscription management card.
3. Click Plan Change in the upper-right corner.
4. In the plan change dialog, select the target configuration, select I agree to the service agreement and refund rules, and click OK.
5. You will be redirected to the order payment confirmation page. If you have a voucher, select it to apply the voucher, and then click Submit Order.
6. After submitting the order, select the corresponding payment method to complete the payment.
