This article introduces the preparations needed before getting started with MQTT, including signing up, obtaining permissions, and preparing VPC resources.
Operation Steps
1. Register a Tencent Cloud account and verify identity.
Before creating an MQTT cluster, sign up for a Tencent Cloud account and complete real-name authentication. For specific steps, refer to Register a Tencent Cloud account and introduction to real-name authentication.
If you already have a Tencent Cloud account and completed identity verification, please skip this step.
2. Recharge your account.
Before creating an MQTT cluster, ensure your account has sufficient amount to pay for the cluster purchase. For specific steps of account recharge, refer to Online Recharge.
If your account has sufficient amount, please skip this step.
3. Configure MQTT operation permissions for the account.
If you use a Tencent Cloud sub-account, refer to Account Permission Management Overview to grant MQTT cluster operation permissions to the sub-account.
If you use a Tencent Cloud root account, it has operation permissions for all resources by default. Skip this step.
4. Create a VPC and subnet.
Before creating an MQTT cluster, please ensure an available VPC and subnet already exist. For specific steps to create a VPC and subnet, refer to Create VPC and Subnet. The created VPC and MQTT Cluster must be in the same region. The private networks of cloud products in different regions are not interconnected.
If you already have a suitable VPC and subnet, skip this step.
5. Set up the environment.
VPC
Prepare a Linux server: This article uses Tencent CVM as an example. For specific steps to create a CVM, see Purchase CVM, ensure the CVM and MQTT cluster are in the same VPC. If you already have an available CVM, you can skip this step.
Set up environment: Log in to the CVM and install Java JDK version 1.8 or later and Maven version 2.5 or later.
public network environment
Can be executed locally. In advance, install Java JDK version 1.8 or later and Maven version 2.5 or later.
