A cluster is a resource dimension in MQTT. Topics, clients, and other resources in different clusters are completely isolated. Each cluster has its own resource limits, such as topic quota, connection quota, and subscription quota. Common use cases include using a dedicated cluster for development and test environments and another for production environments.

Creating a Cluster

1. Log in to the MQTT Console.
2. In the left sidebar, choose Resource Management > Cluster Management. Select a region and click Create Cluster to go to the cluster purchase page.
Configuration
Description
Billing Mode
Currently, Subscription and Pay-as-you-go billing modes are supported.
Region
Select the region closest to your business. Cloud products in different regions cannot communicate over the private network, and the region cannot be changed after purchase. Select a region carefully. For example, a CVM instance in the Guangzhou region cannot access a cluster in the Shanghai region through the private network. For cross-region private network communication, see Cloud Connect Network (CCN).
Cluster Specification
Currently, Professional Edition and Platinum Edition are available. For differences between editions, see Product Series.
TPS Specification
The total of produced and consumed messages, converted per message based on settings. For details, see Purchase Description.
Number of Client Connections
The Basic Edition supports up to 2,000 client connections. Additional connections cannot be purchased. The Professional Edition includes a varying number of complimentary connections based on the TPS specification. Additional connections can be purchased separately.
VPC
Authorizes binding the access point domain name of the newly purchased cluster to a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
Public Network Access
Enabling public network bandwidth incurs additional fees. You can disable it on the Cluster Management page after activation. For pricing details, see Public Network Billing Description.
Cluster Name
Enter the cluster name. The name must be 3–64 characters long and can contain only digits, letters, hyphens (-), and underscores (_).
Tag
Tags are used to categorize and manage resources from different dimensions.
3. Select the configuration and click Buy Now. Wait 3–5 minutes. The new cluster appears in the console.
