This document walks you through the quickest path to get started with ISS: from activating the service, configuring a stream playback domain, and connecting devices, to previewing device feeds in the console. After completing the operations in this chapter, you will have run through the platform's core feature workflow and mastered the basic usage process.

Preparations

Before you start, make sure the following conditions are met:
Account: You have registered a Tencent Cloud account and completed enterprise identity verification. If you need to register an account, go to the Tencent Cloud official website to complete registration. For detailed identity verification operations, see Identity Verification Overview.
Domain: You have prepared a domain that has completed ICP filing. According to the Measures for the Administration of Internet Information Services, domains without ICP filing cannot use this service. You also need to prepare an SSL certificate for the domain, which will be used for stream playback domain configuration.
Device: You have prepared at least one surveillance device to be connected.
Note:
To provide you with better services, you must complete enterprise verification before you can use this product.

Step 1: Activating the Services

1. Log in to the Tencent Cloud console with your Tencent Cloud account.
2. In the console, choose Cloud Products > ISS to go to the product console.
3. To better understand your needs, submit a usage application first and wait for approval.
4. After approval, go to the product console again and grant the required platform permissions as prompted on the page to complete service activation.

Step 2: Configuring the Playback Domain

Playback addresses for features such as live streaming and recording playback are delivered through the stream playback domain. You must configure the stream playback domain before connecting devices.
1. Log in to the ISS console, select Service Configuration, and go to the Domain Configuration tab.
2. Click Add Domain, select the domain type as stream playback domain, and enter a domain that has completed ICP filing.
3. Complete the CNAME resolution for the domain and bind an SSL certificate.
For detailed operation steps and parameter descriptions, see Service Configuration.

Step 3: Connecting Devices

A device organization is a logical tree for mounting devices. All platform features are organized around device organizations. You must create a device organization before connecting devices.
1. Select device access.
2. Click the + icon in the upper-right corner of the organization tree to create a device organization and customize its name.
3. Add a device under the target organization, enter the device information, and save it.
For detailed steps to add a device and supported access protocols, see device access.

Step 4: Verifying Live Streaming

1. Select live streaming.
2. Click the target organization in the organization tree, and expand the target device in the device list.
3. Click the channel to view, and the player starts pulling streams and playing the live view.
The upper-left corner of the playback window displays the channel name, encoding format, bitrate, and frame rate. Seeing the live view indicates that the full-link verification for the quick start is successful.
Note:
Live streaming is on-demand stream pulling: click a channel to start pulling streaming, and close the player to stop pulling streaming.
For operations such as multi-view playback, PTZ control, and screenshot capture, see live streaming.

Subsequent Operation Steps

After completing the quick start, you can continue to learn about:
Billing methods and list prices: see Product Billing.
Recording plan configuration and recording playback: see Recording Management.
For detailed usage of each console feature, see User Guide.
