Cloud Physical Machine 2.0

    This document introduces Cloud Physical Machine 2.0 and its instance specifications. Currently, Cloud Physical Machine 2.0 is in beta as a CVM instance type. Please submit an application if you wish to use this product.

    Cloud Physical Machine 2.0

    Physical Machine 2.0 is a high-performing bare metal instance built on the latest virtualization technology of Tencent Cloud. It combines the elasticity of a virtual machine with the stable computing performance of a physical machine. It can be integrated seamlessly with all Tencent Cloud services such as networks and databases. Cloud Physical Machine 2.0 supports third-party virtualization platforms and can help you build dedicated and isolated physical server clusters rapidly. With the nested virtualization technology, it also supports efficient and advanced hybrid cloud deployment with AnyStack.

    Strengths

    Compared to on-premise data centers, Cloud Physical Machine 2.0 enables you to spin up clusters faster while taking advantage of Tencent Cloud services such as cross-region private interconnection, private network, load balancing, NAT gateway, operation and maintenance, monitoring, security protection, and more. We recommend CPM 2.0 for businesses with high performance and tenant isolation requirements; it provides bare metal computing capability with no performance loss.

    • Optimal performance. Cloud Physical Machine 2.0 has a comparable performance as that of a physical machine. The network layer achieves forwarding performance of up to 10 million pps with the unique network forwarding technology
    • Fast delivery. Cloud Physical Machine 2.0 is pay-as-you-go on a per minute basis to help enterprises easily meet demands for business resources
    • Shared ecosystem. Cloud Physical Machine 2.0 can be seamlessly connected with other Tencent cloud products such as CBS and COS, allowing you to use cloud resources easily and securely

    Models

    Standard BMS4

    Standard BMS4 instances are equipped with the latest Xeon® Skylake processors and DDR4 memory. They use Tencent Cloud’s latest network virtualization technology, offering a private network throughput up to 10,000,000 pps and support up to 25 Gbps of private network bandwidth. These instances feature Tencent Cloud’s latest computing virtualization technology and supports nested virtualization.

    Big Data BMD2

    As the latest generation of big data instances, Big Data BMD2 instances are equipped with high throughput, massive storage resources, and up to 144 TB of SATA HDD local storage. These instances uses Tencent Cloud’s latest network virtualization technology, offering a private network throughput up to 10,000,000 pps and support up to 25 Gbps of private network bandwidth. They feature Tencent Cloud’s latest computing virtualization technology and supports nested virtualization, making them ideal for throughput-intensive businesses such as Hadoop distributed computing and parallel processing.

    • Instances come with up to 12 local disks of 12 TB in size and are equipped with up to 144 TB of HDD local storage
    • For a single disk, the sequential read throughput is 220+ MB/s and sequential write throughput is 220+ MB/s (128 KB block size and depth of 32)
    • Overall instance throughput can reach up to 2.8 GB/s (128 KB block size and depth of 32)
    • Read/write latency is as low as 2-5 ms
