Introduction

This document describes how to associate a policy with a user/user group through the Policies page or the Users/User Groups page in the Console. After the association, the user/user group will have the permissions associated with the policy.

Associating a policy with a user/user group through the Policies page

Associating a preset policy with a user

  1. In the CAM Console, go to the Policies page.
  2. In the Policies page, click All Policies > Preset Policies on the upper left to filter the preset policies.
  3. Find the preset policy you want to associate, and click Associate on the right.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Switch to User Groups > Users.
  5. Check the users you want to associate with the policy, and click OK to complete the association.

Associating a preset policy with a user group

  1. In the CAM Console, go to the Policies page.
  2. In the Policies page, click All Policies > Preset Policies on the upper left to filter the preset policies.
  3. Find the preset policy you want to associate, and click Associate on the right.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Switch to User Groups > User groups.
  5. Check the user groups you want to associate with the policy, and click OK to complete the association.

Associating a custom policy with a user

  1. In the CAM Console, go to the Policies page.
  2. In the Policies page, click All Policies > Custom Policies on the upper left to filter custom policies.
  3. Find the custom policy you want to associate, and click Associate on the right.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Switch to User Groups > Users.
  5. Check the users you want to associate with the policy, and click OK to complete the association.

Associating a custom policy with a user group

  1. In the CAM Console, go to the Policies page.
  2. In the Policies page, click All Policies > Custom Policies on the upper left to filter custom policies.
  3. Find the custom policy you want to associate, and click Associate on the right.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Switch to User Groups > User groups.
  5. Check the user groups you want to associate with the policy, and click OK to complete the association.

Associating a user with a preset policy

  1. In the CAM Console, click Users > User List on the left to go to the User List page.
  2. In the User List page, find the user you want to authorize and click Authorize on the right.
  3. In the pop-up window, click Policy Type > Preset Policy to filter preset policies.
  4. Check the preset policies you want to associate with the user, and click OK to complete the association.

Associating a user with a custom policy

  1. In the CAM Console, click Users > User List on the left to go to the User List page.
  2. In the User List page, find the user you want to authorize and click Authorize on the right.
  3. In the pop-up window, click Policy Type > Custom Policy to filter custom policies.
  4. Check the custom policies you want to associate with the user, and click OK to complete the association.

Associating a user group with a preset policy

  1. In the CAM Console, go to the User Groups page.
  2. Locate the user group you want to authorize, and click the user group name to go to the Group Information page.
  3. On the Group Information page, click the Permissions tab.
  4. Click Associate Policies
  5. In the pop-up window, click Policy Type > Preset Policy to filter preset policies.
  6. Check the preset policies you want to associate with the user group, and click OK to complete the association.

Associating a user group with a custom policy

  1. In the CAM Console, go to the User Groups page.
  2. Locate the user group you want to authorize, and click the user group name to go to the Group Information page.
  3. On the Group Information page, click the Permissions tab.
  4. Click Associate Policies
  5. In the pop-up window, click Policy Type > Custom Policy to filter custom policies.
  6. Check the custom policies you want to associate with the user group, and click OK to complete the association.
