Note:
If you are a customer of a Tencent Cloud partner and your account is in arrears, the handling rules for product resources under such circumstances shall follow the agreement stipulated in your contract with the partner.
WAF is a yearly/monthly subscription billing product. This document introduces the relevant arrears policies and data recycling mechanisms for Web Application Firewall.

Expiration Warning

WAF instance resources will push reminder notifications to users during the period from 7 days before expiration to resource release. The system will notify the Tencent Cloud account creator, global resource collaborators, and financial collaborators via email, SMS, WeChat, and in-site messages (actual delivery methods are subject to the subscription settings in the user's Message Center).
7 days before expiration to the resource release period's message reminder mechanism, see the billing process in Prepaid Billing.
Note:
If you have set up auto-renewal and your account balance is sufficient, the system will automatically renew the service on the expiration date.
If your account balance is insufficient for renewal, the system will send you a notification stating "Insufficient balance for auto-renewal. Please top up your account." Notifications will be delivered via email, SMS, WeChat, and in-site messages. You will receive one notification every 1 day. Additionally, a voice call alarm will be triggered 1 day before expiration (actual delivery methods are subject to your subscription settings in the Message Center).

Arrears reminder

WAF instance resources will push overdue payment isolation warning messages to users from on the expiration date and thereafter. The warning messages will notify the Tencent Cloud account creator and all collaborators via email, SMS, WeChat, and in-site messages (actual delivery methods are subject to the user's Message Center subscription settings).

Recycling Mechanism

WAF resources will start sending renewal reminder notifications to users 7 days before expiration.
Within 7 days after expiration, the Web Application Firewall (WAF) remains operational. You need to renew the service as soon as possible, and the system will send a WAF expiration reminder.
WAF service will be suspended starting on the 8th day after expiration. Forwarding and protection features will become unavailable, and resources will be reclaimed by the system. Relevant configuration data will be permanently deleted and unrecoverable.
Warning:
If you confirm that you will no longer use the Web Application Firewall (WAF), ensure that domain-related configurations have been migrated before service suspension to prevent business impact:
Do not actively adjust the DNS resolution of the domain, if the user has confirmed that they no longer need to use WAF, please revert the DNS resolution of the domain to the origin server, otherwise, it will cause the website service to be inaccessible.
Do not actively unbind the binding relationship between the domain and the CLB listener. Please unbind it before resource reclamation.

Release Instance Resources

Users can release the waf instance themselves in the console within 7 days after the Web Application Firewall resource expires.
1. Log in to the WAF console and select Instance Management in the left sidebar.
2. On the instance management page, select the instance to be released and click Release instance.


3. After the instance is released, the backend will clear all configurations of the corresponding instance. If you need to continue using it, do not release the instance and renew the service as soon as possible.
