This document introduces the read-only analytical instance feature of TDSQL Boundless.
What Is a Read-Only Analysis Instance
The read-only analytical instance is a new feature introduced by TDSQL Boundless for real-time data analysis and complex query scenarios. Its pluggable analytical engine design makes the creation and termination processes flexible and convenient, while also providing users with the capability to process massive data and perform efficient, real-time complex analysis.

Feature Strengths
High-speed analytics engine
The read-only analytical instance delivers high-performance complex query analysis, enabling your business analytics system to efficiently and promptly obtain useful information from massive databases. It provides an excellent performance experience across various query scenarios, including multi-table JOINs on large tables, data aggregation, sorting operations, and complex nested SQL.
Pluggable analytics engine
The read-only analytical instance is compatible with MySQL protocols and syntax. Users do not need to modify their business logic and can directly execute complex queries on the read-only analytical instance. They can also choose whether to enable the analytical instance based on actual business needs. When analytical acceleration is not required, the instance can be disabled at any time to control costs.
Real-time data loading to columnar storage
The built-in data sync component of the read-only analytical instance can quickly load existing data from TDSQL Boundless into the instance. After the data loading is complete, it can also synchronize all data changes made on the read/write instance in real time, ensuring real-time consistency between row and column data. Furthermore, to address the inefficiency of data changes in traditional columnar storage under high-concurrency data update and deletion scenarios, the read-only analytical instance provides columnar storage capabilities designed for high-concurrency data updates. These capabilities support real-time data sync to achieve low-latency performance.
Specified data loading
The read-only analytical instance supports loading specified objects into it. Users can load specific databases or tables that require analytical capabilities or have data analysis value into the read-only analytical instance for data analysis, enabling flexible control over the resource consumption of the instance.
Ultra-high data compression ratio
Based on a columnar storage architecture, it delivers ultra-high data scanning performance while also providing an average compression ratio of 4 to 5 times, significantly reducing storage costs.
Use Cases
The read-only analytical instance is designed to provide users with real-time, high-performance data analysis, helping them overcome the complex Ops challenges of building and maintaining their own ETL tools for data synchronization. Leveraging the features of the read-only analytical instance, users can easily build a data analysis instance with a single click, using it as a basis for business decisions to fully unlock the value of their data.
Report analysis and real-time dashboard
Reporting systems for internal enterprise analysis and management can promptly and in real time view the operational status of business systems online. Alternatively, data analysis services for business operations also fall into this category. In such business scenarios, the query SQL is complex, query patterns are not fixed, and high throughput is required. Additionally, with a large volume of online data, using a read-only analytical instance can meet the real-time and high-performance demands of the business in these scenarios.
User profiling and behavior analysis
In advertising and game operation scenarios, there is often a need for in-depth analysis of user behavior and user profiles, with the results used for real-time business decisions. These scenarios involve large data volumes, require timely return of data analysis results, and have high query QPS. By using a read-only analytical instance, users can quickly obtain the data needed for analysis in such scenarios, enabling Behavior Analytics to serve as a decision-making basis for precision push-related services.
Real-time data warehouse
The read-only analytical instance can also be used in scenarios such as e-commerce sale order analysis, waybill analysis in logistics, performance analysis and metric calculation in finance, live-stream quality analysis, ad push analysis, smart cockpit, and probe analysis to obtain ultra-high complex query performance.
