Use Cases
When database instances are created in batches, the system supports a feature that automatically increments a numeric suffix based on a custom naming pattern. This enables rule-based management of instance names and significantly improves creation efficiency.
Note:
An instance name can only contain Chinese characters, English letters, digits, underscores (_), or hyphens (-), with a maximum length of 128 characters.
Basic Mode: Prefix + Auto-Incrementing Number (Starting from 1 by Default)
Rule: a fixed prefix + an automatically incrementing number starting from 1.
Configuration method: When purchasing an instance, customize the prefix for the instance name in the Instance Name input box. For example, set it to cmgo. Also, specify the quantity for batch purchase. By default, instance names are automatically arranged in ascending order starting from 1. As shown in the following figure, if you purchase 5 instances in a batch, the instance names after purchase will be cmgo1, cmgo2, cmgo3, cmgo4, and cmgo5.
Custom Starting Number Mode: Prefix + {R:x}
Rule: a fixed prefix + {R:x} (where x is a custom starting sequence number).
Configuration method: When purchasing an instance, enter the prefix {R:x} in the Instance Name input box. For example, enter cmgo{R:3}. Then, specify the purchase quantity. The instance names will be cmgo3 and cmgo4, as shown in the following figure.
Composite Pattern String: Multiple Prefixes + Multiple Sequence Numbers + Fixed Suffix
Rule: Prefix1{R:x} + Prefix2{R:y} + ... + a fixed suffix, where x and y are the starting sequence numbers for each prefix segment, respectively.
Configuration method: When purchasing an instance, enter a composite pattern string in the Instance Name input box. For example, enter cmgo{R:10}_node{R:12}_db. Then, specify the quantity for batch purchase. The instance names will be cmgo10_node12_db, cmgo11_node13_db, cmgo12_node14_db, cmgo13_node15_db, and cmgo14_node16_db.
