TDMQ for CKafka (CKafka) Serverful instances are billed for private network bandwidth, public network bandwidth, storage space, and partitions. This document describes the billing modes and pricing details for each billable item.

Private Network Bandwidth

Billing Modes

Item
Applicable Scope
Description
Billing Mode
Peak bandwidth (required)
Full series
This refers to the private network bandwidth. To estimate the peak bandwidth resource, calculate it based on the rule of Peak bandwidth of business traffic x Number of replicas. CKafka accumulates the bandwidth consumption of all replicas to calculate the actual peak bandwidth. For example, if the business requires 40 MB bandwidth and 3 replicas, you need to purchase a peak bandwidth of 120 MB/s.
Yearly/Monthly subscription and postpaid by hour
Elastic bandwidth (optional)
Pro Edition
After this option is enabled, if the business traffic exceeds the purchased cluster bandwidth specification, the excess part will be billed based on actual usage. If the traffic does not exceed the specification, no additional fees will be incurred. This is suitable for scenarios where the business occasionally experiences burst traffic.
Pay-as-you-go

Note:
On the purchase page, the "Instance" billable item displayed in the price details represents the base fee for each tier of "Peak Bandwidth".
Example: For a Pro Edition instance with 180 MB/s bandwidth on a yearly/monthly subscription, add the extra 60 MB/s beyond the base 120 MB/s. The price of the package is: 630 + 51 x (60/20) = 783 USD/month.

Elastic Bandwidth Pricing

The billing mode for elastic bandwidth is pay-as-you-go. Once enabled, no fees are incurred if there is no usage. The billable items for elastic bandwidth consist of two components: production elastic traffic and consumption elastic traffic. The billing methods are as follows:
Billable Item
Unit Price
Calculation Formula
Settlement Method
Production elastic traffic fee
0.0064 USD/GB/hour
Total elastic production traffic (GB) (excluding traffic generated by replicas) x Elastic traffic pricing (USD/GB) x Number of replicas
Billed on an hourly basis, with bills pushed daily.
Consumption elastic traffic fee
0.0064 USD/GB/hour
Total elastic consumption traffic (GB) (excluding traffic generated by replicas) x Elastic traffic pricing (USD/GB)
Billed on an hourly basis, with bills pushed daily.
For detailed information about elastic bandwidth, see Enabling Elastic Bandwidth.

Public Network Bandwidth

Starting from April 2026, TDMQ for CKafka (CKafka) provides a new edition of public network access. This new edition of public network access has been comprehensively upgraded in terms of isolation, stability, security, and feature completeness. It supports specification adjustment via the console and configuration of IP address allowlists.
Note:
After the new edition of the public network is officially released, new public network subscriptions use the new edition by default and are billed according to the new billable items.

Storage Space

TDMQ for CKafka (CKafka) supports two storage modes: fixed storage and elastic storage. The scenarios and billing methods differ between the two storage modes. When purchasing an instance, you can choose either of the two storage modes.
Storage Type
Applicable Version
Description
Billing Mode
Scenario
Fixed storage
Full series
Different instance specifications correspond to different minimum storage capacity limits.
Yearly/Monthly subscription and postpaid by hour
Suitable for scenarios that require message persistence and have stable storage consumption.
Elastic storage
Pro Edition
Storage is used on demand and charged under the pay-as-you-go mode with no theoretical upper limit on its capacity.
Pay-as-you-go
Suitable for most scenarios where messages are consumed and then deleted, where storage consumption is low or fluctuates significantly. For details, see elastic storage.

Pricing of Fixed Storage

Minimum Disk Capacity Required

When you purchase a CKafka instance, a minimum disk capacity is required. The minimum disk capacity varies depending on the selected bandwidth specification. The following table describes the specific mappings.

Disk Pricing

For the fixed storage, disk capacity is scaled out in units of 100 GB. The disk prices are as follows:
Disk Type
Single Disk Capacity (GB)
Yearly/Monthly Subscription Unit Price (USD/100 GB/Month)
Pay-per-Hour Unit Price (USD/100 GB/Hour)
Cloud SSD
100
16
0.03
Premium Disk
100

0.01
For cloud disk types, see Cloud Disk Types.
Note:
When a Topic is created in CKafka, you can choose to store data with 3 replicas or 2 replicas. The actual business storage space is purchased disk space / number of replicas.
For example, if you purchase a 300 GB disk, the actual storage space is 150 GB for two-replica storage, and 100 GB for three-replica storage.

Pricing of Elastic Storage

Elastic storage is billed based on the space size and duration of message storage.
Billing modes: postpaid by hour, with the measurement unit being USD/GB/hour.
Billing granularity: Tiered billing is based on the maximum disk capacity used within an hour. Usage of less than 1 hour is billed as 1 hour. The storage space must be multiplied by the number of replicas.

In both hour 1 and hour 2, the maximum storage space falls within the [1,1024] billing range.
Hourly cost in hour 1 and hour 2: 0.00018 (USD/hour) x 1000 (GB) = USD 0.18
In hour 3 and hour 4, the maximum storage space is 2000 GB, partially falling within the (10245 x 1024] range.
Hourly cost in hour 3 and hour 4: 0.00018 (USD/hour) x 1024 (GB) + 0.00012 (USD/hour) x (2000 - 1024) (GB) = USD 0.30144
In hour 5, the maximum storage space is 6000 GB, spanning 3 billing ranges.
Cost in hour 5: 0.00018 (USD/hour) x 1024 (GB) + 0.00012 (USD/hour) x 4 x 1024 (GB) + 0.0001 (USD/hour) x (6000 - 1024 x 5) (GB) = USD 0.76384
Result: The total elastic storage cost in the 5 hours is: 0.18 + 0.18 + 0.3014 + 0.30144 + 0.76384 = 1.72664 ≈ USD 1.73.

Partition

After you select the peak bandwidth, a corresponding basic package tier is automatically assigned. Each tier includes a certain number of partitions at no extra cost, and topics are not billed separately. The number of topics available within the package is calculated as: Number of topics = Number of partitions / Number of replicas.
If the number of free partitions included in the corresponding basic package still does not meet your requirements, you can purchase a Partition add-on package separately.

Number of Partitions in the Package

The mapping between peak bandwidth (x) and the number of partitions included in the package is as follows:

Pricing for Additional Purchased Partitions

The partition add-on package is sold in increments of 100 partitions. Pricing for the add-on package is as follows:
Number of Partitions
Yearly/Monthly Subscription Unit Price (USD/100 Partitions/Month)
Pay-as-you-go Unit Price (USD/100 Partitions/Hour)
100
35
0.05
Note:
The instance-level partition limit includes the number of replicas. For example, if an instance contains one topic with 2 replicas and 4 partitions, and two topics with 3 replicas and 3 partitions each, then the total number of partitions for this instance is: (1 x 2 x 4) + (2 x 3 x 3) = 26.
