Overview

Cloud Log Service (CLS) offers two solutions to monitor the usage of log topics and metric topics, including traffic and storage, helping users understand the usage of each topic and control product usage costs reasonably.

Both querying metrics and configuring alerts can be completed within the Cloud Log Service product without needing to switch pages.
Currently supported regions are Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Nanjing, available to some users via allowlist. For other regions or allowlist access, please contact us.
With a large number of topics, it is necessary to find topics or log sets with high usage and fluctuation anomalies from multiple dimensions.

Basic Plan: Tencent Cloud Observability Platform Solution

Topic usage monitoring indicators have been reported to Tencent Cloud Observability Platform. Use the Cloud Product Monitoring feature to query metrics and configure alerts. The operation steps are as follows:
1. Open the Tencent Cloud Observability Platform console to view the log topic list and corresponding usage monitoring indicators.
2. Click on the log topic name to view detailed usage monitoring indicators for the topic. The supported monitoring indicators are detailed in Cloud Log Service Monitoring Indicators.
3. You can configure alerts for the above indicators. For operation steps, see Create Alarm Policies.

Advanced Plan: Cloud Log Service Self-Monitoring Solution

Topic usage metrics are automatically reported to the Cloud Log Service self-monitoring metrics topic, located under the log set cls_service_logging, named cls_service_metric. Each region has one topic, storing the usage metrics for all log topics and metrics topics in that region. This topic is free of charge, cannot be edited, and does not support custom metrics reporting.
Note:
Currently, this service is available only in the Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Nanjing regions and is accessible to a limited number of users via an allowlist. If you require access in other regions or need to have the allowlist enabled, please contact us.
Follow the steps below:
1. Open the CLS Topic Usage Monitoring_Overview dashboard to view summary metrics for all topics in the current region and to view the Top Usage Log Set and Top Usage Topic.
2. In the Top Usage Log Set, click LogsetID to view the summary metrics for the topics under that log set and the Top Usage Topic.
3. In the Top Usage Topic, click TopicID to view the detailed usage monitoring metrics for that topic.
4. You can configure alarms for the above metrics. For detailed steps, see Configure Alarm policies.
You can also directly query the usage indicators in the metric topic cls_service_metric, as shown in the table below. For the meaning of the indicators, see Billing Overview.
