Suppose you used the VOD storage service on January 1, where the peak STANDARD storage capacity in the Chinese mainland was 100 GB, and the peak STANDARD_IA storage capacity in Mumbai was 50 GB. You will need to pay the following fee on January 2:
VOD storage fee on January 1 = 100 (GB) x 0.0006 (USD/GB) + 50 (GB) x 0.0006 (USD/GB) = 0.06 (USD) + 0.03 (USD) = 0.09 (USD)
Note:
- You can delete stored files via the console to avoid incurring storage fees. Otherwise, storage fees will be incurred every day.
- Minimum storage duration for STANDARD_IA files: 30 days
- Minimum storage duration for ARCHIVE files: 90 days
- Minimum storage duration for DEEP ARCHIVE files: 180 days
VOD offers three types of video transcoding: General transcoding, TESHD transcoding, and transcoding to adaptive bitrate streaming.
General transcoding is charged based on the duration and height (px) of the video generated after transcoding.
Codec | Resolution | Unit Price (USD/min) |
---|---|---|
H.264 | 4K (height ≤ 2160 px) | 0.0521 |
H.264 | 2K (height ≤ 1440 px) | 0.0242 |
H.264 | FHD (height ≤ 1080 px) | 0.0121 |
H.264 | HD (height ≤ 720 px) | 0.0061 |
H.264 | SD (height ≤ 480 px) | 0.003 |
H.265 | 4K (height ≤ 2160 px) | 0.2521 |
H.265 | 2K (height ≤ 1440 px) | 0.126 |
H.265 | FHD (height ≤ 1080 px) | 0.063 |
H.265 | HD (height ≤ 720 px) | 0.0315 |
H.265 | SD (height ≤ 480 px) | 0.0158 |
Remuxing | - | 0.0028 |
Audio transcoding | - | 0.002 |
Suppose you used the VOD to transcode a video whose codec is H.264 on January 1. You transcoded it into two outputs of 2560 x 1440 and 1280 x 640 respectively for 100 minutes, and also transcoded it into an audio file for 100 minutes. You will need to pay the following fee on January 2:
Transcoding fee on January 1 = 0.0242 (USD/min) x 100 (min) + 0.0061 (USD/min) x 100 (min) + 0.002 (USD/min) x 100 (min) = 3.23 (USD)
Note:The 2560 x 1440 video falls under the category of 2K (height ≤ 1440 px), so the unit price is 0.0242 (USD/min); the 1280 x 640 video falls under the category of HD (480 px ≤ height ≤ 720 px), so the unit price is 0.0061 (USD/min); the unit price for audio transcoding is 0.002 (USD/min). The fee charged is the costs of the three tasks combined.
For more billing examples, see Billing Examples.
To learn about TESHD transcoding, see Video Transcoding Service.
TESHD transcoding is charged based on the duration and height (px) of the video generated after transcoding.
Codec | Resolution | Unit Price (USD/min) |
---|---|---|
H.264 | 4K (height ≤ 2160 px) | 0.1721 |
H.264 | 2K (height ≤ 1440 px) | 0.08 |
H.264 | FHD(height ≤ 1080 px) | 0.04 |
H.264 | HD(height ≤ 720 px) | 0.02 |
H.264 | HD(height ≤ 480 px) | 0.01 |
H.265 | 4K (height ≤ 2160 px) | 0.8319 |
H.265 | 2K (height ≤ 1440 px) | 0.416 |
H.265 | FHD(height ≤ 1080 px) | 0.208 |
H.265 | HD(height ≤ 720 px) | 0.104 |
H.265 | SD(height ≤ 480 px) | 0.052 |
Note:
- TESHD transcoding is billed according to the resolution and duration of the output video.
- Rules: You are charged based on the duration and specification of the video file generated after TESHD transcoding. Video specification is determined by the codec used and height (px) of the video generated.
- Prices are listed according to the daily billing cycle. If you want to use monthly billing cycle, please contact sales for pricing.
- Billing rules are the same as those for general transcoding.
Adaptive bitrate streaming is charged based on the duration and specification of the video generated after transcoding. Video specification is determined by the codec used and height (px) of the video generated.
Billing rules are the same as those of general transcoding. Videos of different specifications in the output are charged separately according to their resolutions.
Suppose you used VOD to transcode a video into outputs of adaptive bitrate streaming on January 1. The template contains three output specifications, namely, FHD (1920 x 1080), HD (1280 x 720), and SD (640 x 480), and the transcoded video duration of each output is 100 minutes. You will need to pay the following transcoding fee on January 2:
Transcoding fee on January 1 = 0.0121 (USD/min) x 100 (min) + 0.0061 (USD/min) x 100 (min) + 0.003 (USD/min) x 100 (min) = 2.21 (USD)
Note:As the original video is transcoded into videos of three specifications, the overall transcoding fee is the sum of charges for the three videos.
Suppose you used the VOD editing feature to splice video A (10 min, 640 x 480) and video B (15 min, 1280 x 720) on January 1, and the output video is C (25 min, 1280 x 720). You will need to pay the following fee on January 2:
Video editing fee on January 1 = 0.0061 (USD/min) x 25 (min) = 0.1525 (USD)
Note:The codec used in above example is H.264. For more information about video editing, see ComposeMedia and EditMedia.
Resolution | Unit Price (USD/min) |
---|---|
8K (height ≤ 4320 px) | 0.41 |
4K (height ≤ 2160 px) | 0.21 |
2K (height ≤ 1440 px) | 0.1 |
FHD (height ≤ 1080 px) | 0.05 |
HD (height ≤ 720 px) | 0.03 |
SD (height ≤ 480 px) | 0.02 |
Suppose you used the watermark removal service of VOD to output videos in 2560 x 1440 and 1280 x 640 respectively for 100 minutes. You will need to pay the following fee on January 2:
Watermark removal fee on January 1 = 0.1 (USD/min) x 100 (min) + 0.03 (USD/min) x 100 (min) = 13 USD

After you change the media asset storage class to ARCHIVE or DEEP_ARCHIVE, media assets cannot be directly accessed before they are retrieved. VOD supports different retrieval modes, and fees are charged based on the amount of data retrieved in the corresponding mode.
Note:DEEP_ARCHIVE storage doesn't support expedited retrieval.

Suppose you used the VOD data retrieval service on January 1 to retrieve 100 GB of data from DEEP_ARCHIVE storage in the Chinese mainland in the bulk retrieval mode. You will need to pay the following fee:
VOD data fee = 100 (GB) x 0.0026 (USD/GB) = 0.26 USD
