This document provides an overview of the billing and pricing of Tencent Cloud Connect Network (CCN).
Billing Overview
The CCN service fee consists of three parts: network connection instance fee, cross-region data transfer fee, and inbound traffic processing fee.
Note:
Network connection instance and inbound traffic processing service are billed as of July 3, 2023. For details, see the announcement.
The end time for the free tier campaign of network connection instances has been extended from the originally scheduled 00:00:00, April 1, 2025 (Beijing time) to 00:00:00, April 1, 2027. For details, see the announcement.
The end time for the free tier campaign of the inbound traffic processing service has been extended from the originally scheduled 00:00:00, August 1, 2026 (Beijing time) to 00:00:00, April 1, 2027. For details, see the announcement.
USD/month. The billing is based on the 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage and the proportion of active days of actual bandwidth use in a month.
This billing mode is suitable for services with periodic peak bandwidth. For pricing, see Postpaid by Bandwidth. This billing mode is in grayscale release. If you need to use it, submit a ticket for application.
Postpaid by Traffic
Postpaid
USD/GB, billed based on cross-region outbound traffic.
This billing mode is suitable for services with fluctuating traffic that are expected to be paid for based on actual usage. For pricing, see Postpaid by Traffic.
Network connection instances refer to the network instances associated with each CCN instance, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) instances, Direct Connect (DC) gateway instances, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) gateway instances.
Billing Modes
The postpaid by traffic billing mode is used. Fees are settled hourly, and usage less than 1 hour is billed as 1 full hour.
Billing Logic
Hourly network connection instance fee = Unit price of network connection instance fee (USD/instance) × Number of network connection instances associated with a CCN instance beyond the free tier within the current billing cycle.
Note:
The VPC instances where Tencent Cloud Lighthouse (Lighthouse) is deployed are not included.
Only the part beyond the usage quota is charged.
Before 00:00:00 on April 1, 2026, each account enjoys a free tier of 2 network connection instances.
If the network connection instances covered by the free tier are deleted, the free tier will be released 1 hour later.
When the number of network connection instances in an account exceeds two, the system automatically deducts the fees for two connection instances (without specifying which particular instances).
In cross-account scenarios, you can select the account responsible for bearing the network connection instance fee. If the account designated to bear the fee is the same as the account where the network instance resides, this instance directly incurs the network connection instance fee and is excluded from the free tier.

Network Connection Instance Fee per Hour
Assume that your CCN contains the following instances:
1 VPC instance that hosts Lighthouse in the Chinese mainland
2 standard VPC instances in the Chinese mainland
3 VPC gateway instances in Hong Kong (China)
The VPC instance that hosts Lighthouse is free of charge.
You also have a free tier of 2 random instances.

Total fees (of instances beyond the free tier) = Number of connected instances in the Chinese mainland × Unit price in the Chinese mainland + Number of connected instances in other regions × Unit price in other regions = 1 × 0.05 USD + 2 × 0.06 USD = 0.17 USD
Cross-Region Data Transfer Fee
CCN charges fees for cross-region data transfer and supports two billing modes (postpaid by bandwidth and postpaid by traffic) and three service levels (platinum,gold, and silver).
You can select the optimal solution that balances cost and quality based on your business needs. For example, for business data backup, we recommend that you choose postpaid by traffic - silver. For real-time audio/video or game acceleration, we recommend that you choose postpaid by bandwidth - gold.
The three service levels of CCN cross-region bandwidth are described as follows.

Note:
For the same region (whether within the same account or across different accounts), bandwidth is free of charge. However, usage beyond the free tier of network connection instance fee and inbound traffic processing fee will still incur fees.
The service level of data transfer in the same region is gold, which cannot be modified.
Three service levels, platinum, gold, and silver, are provided for cross-region network interconnection. Users can select the service level when creating a CCN instance. The cross-account and cross-region service fee is to be paid by the account associated with the CCN instance.
The performance of the platinum, gold, and silver service levels is similar when the link status is stable. When underlying congestion occurs, availability is guaranteed based on the priority order of platinum, gold, and silver. The silver level may experience latency spikes or packet loss first.
Two billing modes, postpaid by bandwidth and postpaid by traffic, are used as detailed below:
Postpaid by Bandwidth
In this mode, you use resources first and pay for them later. Fees are calculated based on the 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage and the proportion of active days of actual bandwidth use in a month. This mode is suitable for businesses with significant bandwidth fluctuations.
For example, if your regular bandwidth between the Beijing and Shanghai regions is 10 Mbps but peaks at 30 Mbps, we recommend that you use the postpaid by bandwidth billing mode. This is because after the top 5 bandwidth peaks are excluded, you may only need to pay for the 10 Mbps bandwidth.

The postpaid by bandwidth billing mode is currently in grayscale release. If you need to use it, submit a ticket for application.
After a CCN instance using the postpaid by bandwidth billing mode is created, bandwidth can be used directly without the need to be purchased separately. The default bandwidth limit is 1 Gbps and can be adjusted as required. For details about bandwidth management, see Configuring Bandwidth.
In the postpaid by bandwidth billing mode, you are charged based on the 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage in a month.
Billing Cycle
Postpaid by bandwidth: The monthly fees will be deducted between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM on the 1st of the next month.
Billing Formula
Total monthly CCN fee = Sum of interconnection fees of all regions.
Monthly fee for interconnection between two regions = 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage between regions A and B × Proportion of active days × Unit price of the tier reached.
95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage: Data is collected every 5 minutes, and the peak bandwidth (inbound or outbound peak, whichever is higher) between two regions within each 5-minute interval is taken as a statistical point. All statistical points in the current month are sorted in descending order. After the top 5% points are excluded, the maximum value of the remaining points is recorded as the 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage in the month.
For example, you used CCN in June to achieve cross-region interconnection between regions A and B. The number of active days is 14. A statistical point is generated every 5 minutes, so the daily number of statistical points is 288 (60 minutes × 24 hours/5 minutes), and the total number of statistical points in 14 days is 4032 (14 days × 288 points/day). Bandwidth values of the 4032 points are sorted in descending order, the top 5% points (4032 × 0.05 = 201.6) are excluded, and the bandwidth value of the 202nd point is taken as the 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage in the month.
Proportion of active days: Proportion of active days = Number of active days in the current month/Number of calendar days in the current month. An active day is defined as a day on which at least one statistical point has a bandwidth greater than 10 kbps.
Unit price of the tier reached: It is the unit price in the range in which the 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage falls in a month.

For prices of data transfer that is not performed between the Chinese mainland and other regions, consult your business manager.
CCN uses the postpaid by bandwidth billing mode. To avoid unexpected bandwidth fees, we recommend setting an inter-region bandwidth limit.

Billing Example
Assume that your CCN instance (service level: gold) was connected to network instances in Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai in June 2024, and the number of active days was 14 in the month. The bandwidth usage is shown in the following figure:
Note:
For the gold service level, the unit price of the first tier reached is 37 USD/Mbps/month, and that of the second tier reached is 13 USD/Mbps/month.
Fee for data transfer between Guangzhou and Beijing = 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage × Proportion of active days × Unit price of the tier reached = 120Mbps × (14/30) × 13 USD/Mbps/month = 728 USD
Fee for data transfer between Beijing and Shanghai = 95th percentile of monthly bandwidth usage × Proportion of active days × Unit price of the tier reached = 30Mbps × (14/30) × 37 USD/Mbps/month = 518 USD
Total amount of fees to be paid = Sum of data transfer fees across all regions under the account = 728 USD + 518 USD = 1246 USD
Postpaid by Traffic
In this mode, you use resources first and pay for them later. Fees are calculated based on cross-region outbound traffic. This mode is suitable for services that have unstable traffic volumes and require payment by actual usage.
Note:
After a CCN instance using the postpaid by traffic billing mode is created, bandwidth can be used directly without the need to be purchased separately. By default, non-cross-border traffic is limited to 1 Gbps, while cross-border traffic is limited to 100 Mbps. For details about bandwidth management, see Configuring Bandwidth.

Assume that your CCN instance (service level: gold) is connected to network instances in Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai. The cross-region outbound traffic is shown in the following figure.

You are charged based on cross-region outbound traffic.
For the gold service level, the list price for data transfer between regions in the Chinese mainland is 0.0676 USD/GB.
Outbound traffic fee for data transfer from Guangzhou to Beijing = 1500 GB × 0.0676 USD/GB = 101.4 USD
Outbound traffic fee for data transfer from Beijing to Guangzhou = 500 GB × 0.0676 USD/GB = 33.8 USD
Outbound traffic fee for data transfer from Shanghai to Beijing = 3000 GB x 0.0676 USD/GB = 202.8 USD
Outbound traffic fee for data transfer from Beijing to Shanghai = 1000 GB × 0.0676 USD/GB = 67.6 USD
The total amount payable = Sum of cross-region outbound traffic fees across all regions under the account = 101.4 USD + 33.8 USD + 202.8 USD + 67.6 USD = 405.6 USD
Inbound traffic processing fee
Inbound traffic refers to the traffic sent by each network connection instance (including VPC instances, DC gateway instances, and VPN gateway instances) associated with CCN to the CCN gateway. For details, see Viewing Monitoring Information. Inbound traffic is processed, and the corresponding fees are charged by CCN.
Note:
Outbound traffic sent from a CCN to its associated network connection instances (including VPC instances, DC gateway instances, and VPN gateway instances) incurs no traffic processing fees.
You are charged for cross-region inbound traffic and inbound traffic between non-VPC instances within the same region.
Inbound traffic across VPC instances in the same region is free, except in the following two scenarios:
A Cloud Load Balancer (CLB) instance is bound to backend servers across VPC instances.
Traffic is accessed using custom routes in the same city.
In cross-account scenarios, you can select the account for settlement of the inbound traffic processing fee. If the selected account is the account to which a network instance belongs, the traffic processing fee incurred by this instance will be directly billed and excluded from the free tier.

Billing Example
Assume that your CCN instance was connected to 2 network instances in Guangzhou and 1 network instance in Beijing in June 2024. The inbound traffic is shown in the following figure.
Inbound traffic processing fee = (Total inbound traffic - Free tier of inbound traffic) × Unit price of inbound traffic = (Inbound traffic from Beijing to Guangzhou zone 1 + Inbound traffic from Guangzhou zone 2 to Beijing - Free tier of cross-region traffic) = (120 TB + 15 TB - 100 TB) × 0.02 USD/GB = 716.8 USD
Note:
Since the traffic from Guangzhou zone 1 to Guangzhou zone 2 is within the same region, the inbound traffic fee is 0.

Comprehensive Billing Example
Assume that your CCN instances (service level: gold) were associated with network instances in four regions, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, and you purchased three CCN instances using the postpaid by bandwidth billing mode for data transfer between Beijing and Shanghai, between Shanghai and Chengdu, and between Chengdu and Guangzhou. The usage period was from May to June 2024. The usage is shown in the figure below.
Network connection instance fee = Number of billable connection instances × Unit price of connection instances × Usage duration of connection instances = (Total number of connection instances - Free tier for network instance connection fee) × Unit price of connection instances in the Chinese mainland × [24 hours/day × (31 days + 30 days)] = (5 instances - 2 instances) × 0.05 USD/instance/hour × 1,464 hours = 219.6 USD
Cross-region data transfer fee = Sum of cross-region data transfer fees under the account = The fee of data transfer between Beijing and Shanghai + The fee of data transfer between Shanghai and Chengdu + The fee of data transfer between Guangzhou and Chengdu = Purchased duration of data transfer between Beijing and Shanghai × Unit price of the corresponding tier × Usage + Purchased duration of data transfer between Shanghai and Chengdu × Unit price of the corresponding tier × Usage + Purchased duration of data transfer between Guangzhou and Chengdu × Unit price of the corresponding tier × Usage = 2 × 37 × 30 + 2 × 13 × 100 + 2 × 13 × 200 = 10020 USD.

For the gold service level using the postpaid by bandwidth billing mode, the unit price of the first tier reached is 37 USD/Mbps/month, and that of the second tier reached is 13 USD/Mbps/month.
