What's Tencent Cloud TCLake?
TCLake is Tencent Cloud's next-generation, fully managed Data+AI lake foundation, unifying structured and unstructured data management. Featuring a built-in multimodal data catalog, unified access control, a batch-stream unified table format, and intelligent data management services, it seamlessly integrates with Tencent Cloud and mainstream open-source Data+AI engines. This empowers enterprises to efficiently build a unified, cost-effective data lake infrastructure tailored for the AI era.
How do I get access to the TCLake trial?
TCLake is currently in active development and is in closed beta, available by invitation only for enterprise customers. (To ensure the best user experience, trial access is currently not open to individual users. We appreciate your understanding.) You can request access by submitting the trial application on our website page. Alternatively, we highly recommend contacting your dedicated Tencent Cloud account manager directly to assess your requirements and expedite your trial request. Why do I get a "No CAM Permissions" error when accessing the TCLake console?
The TCLake access control model comprises two layers: Cloud API Permissions and Data Permissions. To access the TCLake console and view catalog metadata, you must pass both layers of authorization. This specific error indicates that you lack the necessary Cloud API Permissions (required for console visibility and API-driven metadata operations). To resolve this, contact your Tencent Cloud main account administrator or a user with the CAM Administrator role to attach either the QcloudTccatalogFullAccess (TCLake Cloud API Full Read/Write) or QcloudTccatalogReadOnlyAccess (TCLake Cloud API Read-Only) policy to your account.
Why do I receive a "Metadata Service Operation Denied. Please Check Permission Settings" error when creating a catalog?
This error indicates that your account lacks TCLake Data Permissions. Currently, only users assigned the Admin role in TCLake are authorized to create catalogs. Upon service activation, the initial provisioning user and the Tencent Cloud main account automatically become TCLake administrators and are assigned the Admin role. To resolve this issue, you can contact an existing administrator to either create a catalog on your behalf and grant you the necessary access permissions for it, or directly assign you the Admin role so you can create catalogs yourself.
What compute engines does TCLake currently support?
The TCLake compute engine ecosystem is continuously expanding. It currently supports Spark and Flink on Tencent Cloud EMR, as well as the Data Lake Computing (DLC) engine for beta testing. This capability is not yet fully available. If needed, please submit a ticket to contact us.
