Scenarios

After successfully creating a TDMQ for CKafka (CKafka) instance, you can view its status or adjust its basic information at any time in the console, including its name, description, resource tags, and access address, to ensure that its configuration always meets your business requirements. This document describes how to view the basic information of an instance in the console and how to modify and manage the basic configuration items.

Viewing Basic Instance Information

1. Log in to the CKafka console.
2. In the left sidebar, select Instance List. On the instance list page, you can view the lifecycle status of the instances.
The lifecycle of a CKafka instance refers to the status the instance goes through from startup to release. Proper management of instances from startup to deletion ensures that applications running on them can provide services efficiently and economically. Instances have the following statuses:
Status Name
Status Property
Status Description
Creating
Intermediate status
Status after an instance is created but before it enters the running status.
Running (Healthy/Alarm)
Steady status
Status in which an instance is running normally. At this point, the disk, traffic, and number of connections are within the planned range.
Migrating
Intermediate status
Status in which the instance is undergoing data migration during configuration upgrades, configuration downgrades, or availability zone (AZ) changes.
Deleting
Intermediate status
Status in which the instance is being deleted via the console or an API.
Isolated
Intermediate status
Status in which instances under the yearly/monthly subscription mode enter a 7-day isolation period as the console executes deletion operations, or your instances have overdue payments. Instances under the pay-as-you-go mode do not have this status.
Creation Failed
Intermediate status
Status in which fees are deducted successfully, but instance assignment fails when an instance is purchased via the console or an API. If this status occurs, contact our online customer service for assistance.
Deletion Failed
Steady status
Status in which CKafka fails to release resources when the instance is manually deleted or not renewed within 7 days after expiration (including the 7th day).
3. Select a region and click the ID of the target instance. On the Basic Info page, you can view the information of the instance, including its health status, configuration, access method, message retention, and automatic creation of topics.
Parameter
Description
Basic Info
Displays the basic information of the instance, such as its name, version, and region. You can adjust certain parameters in this module according to your actual business requirements.
Access Mode
Displays the public network and private network access points of the instance. For details, see Network Connection Instructions.
Prometheus Monitoring
Provides an access method based on the open-source standard Prometheus Exporter, including a series of monitorable metrics from Apache Kafka, such as instance-level metrics and node-level metrics. Supports integration with user-owned Ops platforms. For details, see Connecting to Prometheus.
Configuration Information
Displays instance specifications, such as bandwidth, number of topics, and number of partitions. You can view the quota usage of the instance in this module. If resources are insufficient, you can scale out promptly. For details, see Changing Instance Specifications.
Instance Billing Information
Displays the billing mode and billing start time of the instance, and whether capabilities such as elastic storage and elastic bandwidth are enabled.
Prometheus Monitoring
Used to configure the default initial values for topics created under the instance. For details, see Configuring Topic Global Properties.
Auto-Create Topic
When this parameter is enabled, if a client produces or consumes messages for a non-existent topic, the system will automatically create a topic using the configured number of replicas and partitions. For details, see Creating a Topic.
Consumer Group Configuration
Supports enabling/disabling automatic creation of consumer groups and configuring a retention period for empty consumer groups. For details, see Creating a Consumer Group and Configuring a Retention Period for Empty Consumer Groups.

Modifying Basic Instance Information

On the basic information page of the cluster, you can modify the following parameters:
Parameter
Modification Method
Name
Click Edit next to Name, enter an instance name, and then click Submit. The name cannot exceed 128 characters.
Instance Version
Click Upgrade next to Instance Version to upgrade the kernel minor version of the instance. For details, see Upgrading the Kernel Minor Version of Instances.
AZ
Click Edit next to AZ to migrate an instance to a different AZ or upgrade its single-AZ deployment mode to the multi-AZ deployment mode. For details, see Changing AZs of Instances.
Tag
Click Edit next to Resource Tag to bind or modify tags for the cluster. For detailed usage of tags, see Configuring Resource Tags.
Maintenance Time
Click Edit next to System Maintenance Time to configure the system maintenance time and cycle. For details, see Configuring the System Maintenance Time.
Instance termination protection
Click Edit next to Instance Deletion Protection to enable or disable instance deletion protection. Once this feature is enabled, instances cannot be deleted via the console or an API. For details, see Configuring Instance Deletion Protection.
