What Is a Subnet?
A subnet is a network space within a VPC where cloud resources are deployed. A VPC must contain at least one subnet, so an initial subnet is simultaneously created when you create a VPC. When you need to deploy multiple services across different subnets or when existing subnets no longer meet business requirements, you can create new subnets within the VPC.
Subnets have an AZ attribute. You can create subnets in different AZs under the same VPC. Subnets in different AZs within the same VPC can interconnect via the private network by default.
The VPC Subnet in the CDC Environment Has the Following Characteristics
The creation entry is the CDC independent entry and must be created in CDC Tencent Cloud CDC console > Network > Subnet. For details, see Creating a subnet. The VPC module is included in the Tencent Cloud CDC infrastructure at no additional cost. However, if cluster scaling is required due to high customer bandwidth consumption, customers will incur additional charges.
CDC can use the same VPC as the public cloud, but subnets cannot be reused. Only subnets created in the CDC console can be used.
