What Is VPC?

VPC (Virtual Private Cloud, VPC) is a dedicated cloud network space built on Tencent Cloud, providing network services for your resources on Tencent Cloud, with different VPCs being completely logically isolated. You can customize the network environment, routing tables, security policies, and so on; simultaneously, VPC supports multiple ways to connect to the Internet, connect to other VPCs, and connect to your local data centers, helping you easily deploy cloud networks.

CDC Environment's VPC Has the Following Characteristics

Resource creation reuses public cloud capabilities and is performed via the console entry. For details, see Getting Started with VPC.
The VPC module is included in the Tencent Cloud CDC infrastructure at no additional cost. However, if cluster scaling is required due to high customer bandwidth consumption, customers will incur additional charges.

CDC Environment Products Special Notes

The network environment in CDC is more complex than in public cloud. Capabilities such as interconnecting with on-premises IDCs and binding private/public IP addresses within IDCs differ from public cloud capabilities in the following aspects:
CDC can use the same VPC as the public cloud, but subnets cannot be reused. Only subnets created in the CDC console can be used.
CDC resources and public cloud resources require cloud network services such as VPN tunnels and CCN to establish network connectivity first, but public services like DNS and NTP on the cloud do not rely on these and are accessible by default.
Elastic EIPs and CLBs in CDC do not provide default public IP addresses, but support binding to on-premises IDC private IPs. Users can register their local IPs, which enables the creation of EIP and CLB instances bound to these on-premises IPs in the CDC console.
Resources in CDC interconnect with the customer's on-premises IDC through the local gateway capability. Elastic EIPs bound to private IP addresses can be bound to CVMs, enabling the CVMs to interconnect with the customer's private network. The routing for interconnection with the IDC's private network is determined by the policy during the delivery and grid-connection phase.
