Scenarios

This document describes how to create a TDMQ for CKafka (CKafka) cluster in the CKafka console.

Prerequisites

You have completed the preparations.

Operation Steps

1. Log in to the CKafka console.
2. In the left sidebar, click Instance List, click New to go to the instance purchase page, and specify the purchase information based on your business requirements.
Configuration Item
Parameter
Parameter Description
Basic configuration
Product Form
Select Serverful.
Billing Mode
Two billing modes are supported: monthly subscription and pay-as-you-go.
Monthly subscription: requires payment before resource usage. This billing mode is suitable for scenarios with steady and long-term usage requirements.
Postpaid Billing by Hour: Pay for resources after usage. This billing mode is suitable for testing or scenarios with unpredictable traffic peaks.
Cluster Type
Pro Edition mainly targets customers with large-scale production environments.
Advanced Edition mainly targets customers with small-scale test environments.
Region
Choosing and deploying clients in regions close to your resources can reduce network latency and improve access speed. Cloud products in different regions cannot communicate with each other via the private network. Select a region with caution, as it cannot be changed after purchase.
Cluster configuration
Name
Optional. Unnamed by default if left blank.
Kafka Version
Select an appropriate Kafka version based on your business requirements. Version 2.8.1 is recommended.
Peak Bandwidth
Select an appropriate peak bandwidth based on your business requirements.
Disk
The currently supported disk types are Cloud SSD and Premium Disk.
Partition Specs
Partition quota for the CKafka instance: The package includes a certain number of partitions (or a minimum number) at no additional cost. Any extra partitions are billed in increments of 100.
Message Retention Period
The duration range is 24 to 2160 hours. By default, messages are retained for 72 hours. Messages that exceed the configured retention period are deleted to free up disk space.
Cross-Zone Deployment
Pro Edition supports deployment across up to 4 different availability zones (AZs), while Advanced Edition supports deployment across up to 2 different AZs.
Network configuration
VPC Network
Bind the access point domain name of the newly purchased cluster to the pre-configured Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) network in the same region.
Other configurations
Tag
Optional. Tags are used to categorize and manage resources from different dimensions.
3. After confirming that the cluster information is correct, click Buy Now. After completing the payment on the order payment page, wait for 3 to 5 minutes for the new cluster to appear on the cluster list page.
