Direct Connect (DC) enables you to establish a private connection between Tencent Cloud and your premises. DC connections bypasses the public internet and offer higher reliability, faster speeds and lower latencies than typical internet connections. In many cases, using DC can provide greater throughput with lower network cost. To use Direct Connect, you need to set up a leased line by network service provider between your premises and Tencent Cloud DC Location. Direct Connect supports industry standard 802.1q VLANs, which allows you to partition the dedicated connection into multiple virtual interfaces and set up private tunnels to different VPCs or other cloud resources. The tunnels can be reconfigured at any time to meet your changing needs.
Tencent Cloud DC guarantees over 99.5% stable network latency. By setting a fixed route configuration, you can speed up the access to and download from business data nodes, eliminating the unstable latency caused by network congestion or fault bypassing and improving your connection speed and network experience.

To meet the demand for highly reliable network access, Tencent Cloud DC boasts dual access point availability through which you can connect to Tencent Cloud in a large number of cities around the world. Tencent Cloud supports two DC backup configuration modes, i.e. traffic sharing (load balancing) and master/slave switch upon failure.

For application scenarios where backup is required, you can realize the communications between VPC and your IDC through Connection, and then back up the data by dual line access or VPN access. The IP address range overlap between the VPC and the IDC does not affect communications.
DC consists of two components: the Connection and Dedicated Tunnel.
Connection: One-time charge of 2,500 USD, including port fees and testing service fees, Monthly Rental Charge is under planning, which you won't be charged until the plan published.
Dedicated Tunnel: Monthly charge in postpaid manner. Intra-city access is free of charge, while inter-city access is a paid service. For details, see here.
