Cloud File Storage

A secure, scalable and low-cost file sharing solution

Overview

Cloud File Storage (CFS) is a secure and scalable file sharing and storage solution. It can be used in conjunction with Tencent Cloud's servers, container service, and batch computing service. CFS provides multiple computing nodes with high-performance shared storage featuring scalable capacity and performance.

Benefits
Integrated Management

CFS is compatible with POSIX and supports cross-platform access, ensuring the consistency of files and data. Your Cloud Virtual Machine (CVM) instance can access the CFS system using the standard NFS protocol.

Easy to Use

CFS provides a simple and easy-to-learn console interface. Using CFS, you can quickly create, configure and manage a file system, reducing the amount of time spent deploying and maintaining your own network-attached storage (NAS).

Shared Access

Multiple CVMs or container services can share the same CFS system. Computing nodes in different regions can also use the same CFS through a VPC, allowing multiple nodes to coordinate tasks and share files.

Flexible and Scalable

CFS storage capacity scales flexibly without impacting your applications or services. CFS performance increases in accordance with storage size to provide reliable and high-performance services.

Pay-as-you-go

CFS dynamically assigns capacity, does not require upfront payments, and is pay-as-you-go. Because CFS can be accessed by multiple clients, you do not need to purchase other storage solutions.

Secure and Reliable

CFS standard file storage runs with three layers of redundancy and features extremely high availability and reliability. CFS can restrict client permissions using user isolation, network isolation and access allowlists.

Features
NFS Protocols

CFS supports NFS v3.0/4.0 protocols and POSIX APIs, allowing you to run NFS commands to use file systems.

Integrated Management

CFS can be easily managed either in the console or via APIs, enabling you to create and configure file systems conveniently. CFS does not require complex deployments or maintenance.

Easy to Use

You can access and use a file system in three simple steps:

  • Create a file system and obtain the mount point
  • Start the NFS client on the server
  • Mount the created file system
Data Sharing

Compute nodes such as CVM instances and containers can share the same storage space via the NFS protocol, eliminating the need for data synchronization. You can use different deployment solutions to access files across availability zones and networks based on your actual business needs.

Elastic Capacity and Performance

CFS can automatically expand the storage capacity of a file system based on the inbound data size. The file system throughput will also automatically increase so that your application can get the required storage capacity and performance in a timely manner to ensure business continuity.

Permissions Management

CFS supports permission management through CAM so that you can manage CFS resource permissions via authorizations from a root account. CFS also supports network isolation among VPCs and allows you to configure permission groups for access control over file systems.

Scenarios

In large companies, employees need to share and have access to the same datasets. Using CFS, administrators can create a file system and grant access to individual employees. Administrators can also set file or directory-based permissions for users or user groups.

Multimedia tasks such as video editing, AV production, broadcast processing, sound design and rendering often rely on shared file storage to handle large files. Coupled with high throughput and shared data access, CFS’s powerful data consistency model can reduce the time needed to process multimedia files.

CFS is a highly compatible and durable file system. It can be used for a range of content management systems and to provide data source files for application services such as websites, online publishing and resource archiving.

CFS provides the scale and performance required for big data applications. With high-throughput computing nodes, read-after-write consistency and low latency, CFS is particularly well-suited to perform data analysis and logset processing.

Pricing

Tencent Cloud CFS is pay-as-you-go and does not require upfront payments. In this flexible billing mode, you only pay for what you use. Billing and settlement are performed hourly. View more >
