Scenarios

The Proxy node of Tencent Cloud Distributed Cache is responsible for core features such as request routing, load balancing, and automatic failover. When the Proxy node load is excessively high or abnormal, O&M engineers can manually perform a Proxy node switchover in the console to quickly restore services and ensure business continuity.

Proxy Node Overview

Item
Note
Feature positioning
The Proxy node is an independent component in the Distributed Cache architecture. It handles functions such as request routing and forwarding, read/write separation, Multi-DB support, and multi-account access control, without occupying shard resources. For details, see Proxy Features.
Number of nodes
The standard architecture deploys three Proxy nodes by default. In the cluster architecture, the number of Proxy nodes increases linearly with the number of shards.
High availability design
Multiple Proxy nodes are deployed on different physical devices to achieve load balancing and automatic failover.
Fault self-healing
When a Proxy node fails, the monitoring system automatically detects the failure, allocates a new node, and restores the service to normal.

Notes

During a Proxy node switchover, connections on that node will be briefly interrupted. The restoration time is typically less than one minute. Ensure that your service has an automatic reconnection mechanism.
Perform node switchover operations during off-peak business hours to minimize potential impact on services.

Prerequisites

A Tencent Cloud Distributed Cache instance has been created, and its status is Running.
The instance currently has no other tasks being executed (such as capacity expansion or backup).

Directions

2. Select a region at the top of the instance list.
3. In the instance list, locate the target instance, click its Instance ID, and go to the Instance Details page.
4. Select the Node Management tab and then click the Proxy Node sub-tab to view all Proxy node information, including node ID, AZ, and status.

5. In the Proxy node list, locate the target Proxy node and click Node switchover in the Operation column.
6. In the pop-up dialog box, confirm the Proxy node information and the impact of the switchover.
7. Click OK to start the Proxy node switchover operation.
8. In the left sidebar, choose Task Management to view the switchover progress. The instance status changes to Processing during the switchover. The switchover is complete when the status is restored to Running.
