After you enable modification protection, it prevents instances from being modified due to accidental operations.

After you enable modification protection for an instance, the ALB configuration, including the security groups, listeners, forwarding rules, and target group binding/unbinding, cannot be modified in the console or via an API.
After you enable modification protection for an instance, the instance can be deleted or returned.
Operation Steps
1. Log in to the ALB console and select the region in the upper-left corner of the instance management page. 2. In the instance list, click the target instance.
3. On the basic information page of the instance, click Enable Modification Protection.
4. In the displayed Enable Modification Protection dialog box, enter the reason in the Remarks field and click OK.
5. To disable modification protection, click Disable Modification Protection on the basic information page of the corresponding instance.
