How to Access Public Networks If My CVM Does Not Have a Common Public IP Address?
If you did not assign a common public IP address when you purchased the CVM or you have returned the common public IP address, you can apply for an EIP in the public IP address console and bind it to your CVM to access public networks. What Is the Difference Between an EIP and a Common Public IP Address?
Both the common public IP address and EIP are Tencent Cloud public IP addresses, and both can provide CVM with the capabilities to access and be accessed by public networks.

What Is the Bandwidth Limit of EIPs?
EIP outbound bandwidth limit (downstream bandwidth)
The network bandwidth limit set in EIP is the outbound bandwidth limit by default, that is, the bandwidth that flows out from EIP instances. The network bandwidth limit varies based on the billing mode. The detailed information is as follows:

EIP inbound bandwidth limit (upstream bandwidth)
The inbound bandwidth of EIPs refers to the bandwidth that flows into EIP instances.
Public IP addresses billed by traffic and billed by fixed bandwidth (including billing by hourly bandwidth and monthly bandwidth subscription):
When the bandwidth purchased by the user is less than or equal to 10 Mbps, Tencent Cloud allocates 10 Mbps of public network inbound bandwidth.
When the bandwidth purchased by the user is greater than 10 Mbps, Tencent Cloud allocates public network inbound bandwidth equal to the purchased bandwidth.
Bill-by-BWP public IP addresses:
Tencent Cloud will assign a public network inbound bandwidth that equals the purchased bandwidth.
What Are the IP Address Types of EIPs?
Tencent Cloud supports various types of EIPs, such as general BGP IP addresses, dedicated BGP IP addresses, accelerated IP addresses, and static single-line IP addresses.
General BGP IP addresses: The general BGP IP addresses are used for balancing network quality and cost. For mutual access between general BGP IP addresses in the Chinese mainland and outside the Chinese mainland, Service Level Agreements (SLA) assurance is not provided for now.
Dedicated BGP IP addresses: They use dedicated lines to avoid detours through the egress networks of international ISPs, resulting in lower latency. Currently, they are only supported by the standard account type. You need to upgrade the traditional account type to use them. For more information on the upgrade, see Account Type Description. Dedicated BGP IP addresses are only supported in the Hong Kong (China) and Singapore regions. For more information on the prices, see Dedicated BGP Bandwidth Package. Accelerated IP addresses: Anycast is used for acceleration, making public network access more stable and reliable, with lower latency. You need to activate Anycast Internet Acceleration (AIA) to apply for them. Contact your business manager for an application if needed. Static single-line IP addresses: Users can access the public network through a single ISP. The cost is low and autonomous scheduling is convenient.
Currently, the static single-line IP address type is only supported in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinan, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Wuhan, Hefei, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Shenyang, Changsha, Chengdu, and Chongqing regions. Support in other regions is subject to the console page. If you want to experience it, contact your business manager for an application.
This type is not open for applications yet in the Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Chengdu, and Chongqing regions. Contact your business manager for an application if needed.
Does EIP Support API Calls?
Elastic IP (EIP) provides more standardized and comprehensive API documentation for version 3.0. Parameter styles and common error codes are unified to ensure strict consistency between the SDK/CLI version and the API documentation. You can perform operations such as creating, binding, unbinding, and releasing an EIP via the APIs for EIP. For more information, you can see API documentation. Yes, it incurs public network traffic fees. However, if you access via the private network in the same region under the same account, no traffic fees will be incurred. For more information, you can see Private Network Service. Why Cannot I Apply for an EIP?
The reason might be that the EIP you are currently applying for is outside the application quota. The specific limits on the quota are as follows:

EIP quotas do not support adjustment by default but can be adjusted through NAT Gateway and CLB to perform IP address convergence. If there are special circumstances that require adjustment, the account must have cloud service resources of a corresponding scale and use them appropriately.
If the requested quota is high, the excess quota may incur charges.
After adjustment, if there are frequent IP address changes or violations of applicable laws and regulations, Tencent Cloud reserves the right to revoke the quota.
How to Keep a Public IP Address Unchanged?
When you need to reserve a specific public IP in your account, you can convert it to an EIP first. After binding cloud resources, you can use the IP for public network access. As long as you do not release, the EIP remains in your account.

An EIP cannot be converted back to a common public IP.
Can I Retrieve a Public IP Address?

What Cloud Resources Can I Bind an EIP to?
You can bind an EIP to cloud resources such as CVM instances, NAT Gateways, ENIs, and HAVIPs. The specific information is subject to the description of each product.
Why Cannot I Bind an EIP to a CVM?
EIP cannot be bound to a CVM. Generally, there are the following reasons:
The EIP has been bound to other cloud resources.
The EIP and the bound CVM are not in the same region.
Why Cannot I Bind an EIP to a NAT Gateway?
EIP cannot be bound to the NAT gateway. Generally, there are the following reasons:
The EIP and the bound NAT gateway are not in the same region.
The maximum number (10) of EIPs that can be bound to the NAT Gateway has been exceeded. For more information on the limits, see NAT Gateway Use Limits. For the Standard Account Type, only EIPs in the traffic and BWP billing modes can be bound to NAT Gateways.
Can I Bind an EIP to Multiple Cloud Resources at the Same Time?
No. One EIP can only be bound to one cloud resource.
Why Is the Network for the EIP Disconnected?
EIP may experience network disconnection, which is generally caused by the following reasons:
The security policy is ineffective. Check whether there is an effective security policy (security group or network ACL). If the bound cloud resource instance has a security policy, for example, disabling access to port 8080, then the EIP's port 8080 cannot be accessed either.
The network for a yearly/monthly subscription bandwidth EIP might be disconnected because it has expired.
The network for a bill-by-traffic or bill-by-bandwidth usage duration EIP might be disconnected because the account has an overdue payment for more than 2 hours.
After I Bind an EIP to a CVM, Why Cannot I See the EIP on the Primary ENI of the CVM?
When users access the public network via an EIP, they can choose the NAT mode or the EIP direct connection mode. The current default mode is the NAT mode, and EIPs in this mode are invisible on the local machine. You can enable EIP direct connection to make EIPs visible on the local machine. No, they cannot be bound across regions. An EIP in region A can only be bound to various resources in the same region.

Why Is the EIP Invisible in the Console?
There are usually three possible causes:
1. The sub-account is not granted resource viewing permissions.
2. The customer has proactively released the corresponding EIP. You can go to the CloudAudit page for viewing. 3. The EIP is released. For example, an overdue payment has exceeded a certain duration, or the EIP has expired.
