In 1996, Nexon released its first game: Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds, which ushered in a new chapter in the gaming industry as the first free-to-play online game. With the release of extraordinary games such as KartRider, MapleStory, Mabinogi, Dungeon Fighter Online, and Sudden Attack, Nexon has been trendsetting in the gaming sector. Nexon is a global gaming company that currently offers around 90 games in over 190 countries and regions in Asia, North America, and Europe. Two thirds of its sales come from overseas markets.

We tested TencentDB for MySQL and TcaplusDB in POC, and both proved to provide optimal performance for game services. Tencent Cloud’s CVM and network services helped to sustain the maximum number of users on each instance. Management and security solutions were also adopted to make full use of the infrastructure. In addition, Nexon improved its business operation stability and successfully resisted several large-scale attacks with the aid of Anti-DDoS Advanced.
