To use Tencent Healthcare Data Services, you need to activate an instance. Billing items include the data storage, access, and related features that you require.
Billing Mode
Tencent Healthcare Data Services uses a postpaid model. This means you first request and use resources on demand, and fees are charged based on your actual resource usage during settlement.
When you activate the service, the system freezes a certain amount from your available account balance as a reserve. The frozen amount for this service is USD 330. You can activate the service only when your available account balance is greater than the frozen amount.

Data storage | Tiered pricing with a minimum charge. Data Repository Fee: USD 33/month. This includes an allowance of the first 10 GB of storage space. Additional Storage Space: Storage usage exceeding the first 10 GB is billed at USD 0.28/GB/month. |
FHIR API Requests | Tiered pricing based on request volume. Free Allowance: The service provides a total of 30,000 requests per month for all data storage. Additional Requests: Usage exceeding the free allowance is billed at USD 0.03 per 10,000 requests, which is equivalent to USD 0.03/10,000 requests. |
Data De-identification | Billed based on data volume. Identification Fee: The fee is billed at USD 0.3/GB for each type of sensitive data. For sensitive data types, see Sensitive Data Types. Conversion Fee: The system charges a conversion fee for the textual portion of resources that have been inspected and converted. The fee is billed at USD 3/GB. |
Export Data | Billed based on the volume of exported data. Export FHIR data to COS or convert it to a database, billed at USD 0.15/GB. |
Billing Examples
The user used the service for half a month (assuming 15 days/30 days, with a conversion factor of 0.5). The data storage volume was 25 GB, with 150,000 FHIR API requests. For de-identification, 3 sensitive data types were selected to process 5 GB of data. Additionally, 8 GB of data was exported to COS.
The base data storage fee of USD 33/month is prorated to USD 16.50. The 15 GB portion exceeding the 10 GB free allowance is also prorated, resulting in a fee of USD 2.10 (15 × 0.28 × 0.5 = 2.10). The total storage cost is USD 18.60.
The free allowance for FHIR API requests is 30,000 requests, which is prorated to 15,000 requests. The 135,000 requests exceeding the allowance are billed at USD 0.03/10,000 requests. The fee is calculated as follows: (135,000 ÷ 10,000) × 0.03 = 13.5 × 0.03 = USD 0.4050.
For de-identification, 3 sensitive data types were selected to process 5 GB of data. The identification fee is USD 4.50 (3 × 0.3 × 5 = 4.50). The conversion fee is USD 15.00 (3 × 5 = 15.00). The total cost is USD 19.50.
Exporting 8 GB of data to COS incurs a fee of USD 1.20 (8 × 0.15 = 1.20).
Total Cost for the Month: USD 18.60 + USD 0.4050 + USD 19.50 + USD 1.20 = USD 39.7050.
Attention:
In the billing unit, GB is the minimum billing unit, with a size of 1 GB. When the actual usage is less than 1 GB, it is rounded up and billed as 1 GB.
Tencent Healthcare Data Services charges fees based on the total usage of all instances across different regions. You can view the created instances in the Data Instance List. Currently, Jakarta is the available region option.
It is recommended to regularly review and delete idle instances based on actual needs to avoid unnecessary costs. Billing stops immediately after an instance is deleted. However, any fees incurred before the deletion must still be settled. All resource data stored within the deleted instance will be deleted and cannot be recovered.
