Overview

This document describes the monitoring data collection and display features at the four levels of cluster, workload, Pod and Container provided by elastic TKE (EKS).

prerequisite

An elastic cluster with a status of "running" has been created. For more information, see This API creates a Cluster .

Operation step

  1. Log in to the TKE console and select [in Left sidebar] Elastic cluster ].
  2. On the "Elastic clusters" list page, select the cluster ID that you want to operate.
  3. On the cluster resource management page, refer to the following documents to view monitoring and setting alarms:

Monitoring

At present, EKS provides the following dimensions of monitoring Metric, and all Metric are within the statistical cycle. Average .

Cluster monitoring Metric

Metrics Unit Description
CPU usage core The size of the CPU currently used by all running Pod of the cluster
Memory usage B The amount of memory currently used by all running Pod in the cluster

Workload Monitoring Metric

Metrics Unit Description
Number of Pod restarts chances The sum of the number of restarts of all Pod within the workload
CPU usage core CPU usage of all Pod within the workload
CPU utilization (Pod specification) % The ratio of CPU usage of all Pod in the workload to Assign's total resources
Memory usage B Memory usage of all Pod within the workload
Memory utilization (Pod specification) % The ratio of memory usage of all Pod in the workload to Assign's total resources

Pod monitors Metric

Metrics Unit Description
Exception - The state of Pod, normal or abnormal
CPU usage core CPU usage of Pod
CPU utilization (Request) % The ratio of the CPU usage of the Pod to the set Request value
CPU utilization (Limit) % The ratio of the CPU usage of the Pod to the set Limit value
CPU utilization (Pod specification) % The ratio of CPU usage of Pod to the total amount of CPU of Pod Assign
Memory usage B Memory usage of Pod, including cache
Memory utilization (Request) % The ratio of the memory usage of the Pod to the set Request value
Memory utilization (Limit) % The ratio of the memory usage of the Pod to the set Limit value
Memory utilization (Pod specification) % The ratio of memory usage of Pod to the total amount of Pod Assign

Container monitors Metric

Metrics Unit Description
CPU usage core CPU usage of Container
CPU utilization (Request) % The ratio of the CPU usage of the Container to the set Request value
CPU utilization (Limit) % The ratio of the CPU usage of the Container to the set Limit value
Memory usage B Memory usage of Container, including cache
Memory utilization (Request) % The ratio of the memory usage of the Container to the set Request value
Memory utilization (Limit) % The ratio of the memory usage of the Container to the set Limit value
